Mini Breakfast Sliders (Printer View)

Fluffy eggs, cheese, sausage, and a hint of maple syrup in soft slider buns for brunch.

# What you'll need:

→ Slider Assembly

01 - 8 mini slider buns
02 - 8 small breakfast sausage patties (about 1.4 oz each)
03 - 4 large eggs
04 - 4 slices cheddar cheese, halved
05 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
06 - 2 tbsp maple syrup
07 - 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)

→ Seasonings

08 - 1/4 tsp salt
09 - 1/8 tsp black pepper

→ Garnish (optional)

10 - Fresh chives, finely chopped

# Method:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F.
02 - Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and cook sausage patties until brown and cooked through, approximately 3-4 minutes per side. Keep warm when done.
03 - Wipe out the skillet. Whisk eggs with salt and pepper. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the skillet over medium-low heat, pour in eggs, and gently scramble until just set. Remove from heat.
04 - Horizontally slice slider buns in half. Optionally spread mayonnaise on bottom halves. Layer with scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, half a slice of cheddar cheese, and drizzle with maple syrup.
05 - Place top halves on sliders and arrange on baking tray. Brush tops with remaining butter and bake for 5-7 minutes until cheese melts and buns are lightly toasted.
06 - Optionally garnish with finely chopped fresh chives and serve warm.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • Perfect bite sized portions that let everyone try a little bit of everything
  • The maple syrup creates this incredible sweet and savory moment people will talk about
02 -
  • Overcooking the eggs in the pan is the biggest mistake because they will turn rubbery after the oven time
  • The maple syrup should go directly on the filling not on the bun or you will end up with sticky fingers
03 -
  • Buy extra slider buns because they always seem to sell out in packs of twelve and you will want leftovers
  • Let the sausage rest on paper towels while you scramble the eggs so they do not make the buns greasy
